Facilities and Maintenance

The BGH2 Facilities and Maintenance Department is responsible for maintenance, construction and overall management of all buildings and grounds belonging to the District. We play a pivotal role in ensuring that our educational environment is safe, functional, and conducive to learning. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our daily operations, and our dedicated team works tirelessly behind the scenes to maintain and improve our facilities. 

The primary responsibility of the Facilities and Maintenance Department is to provide a well-maintained, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Our duties span across various areas, ensuring that every school within the district is equipped to foster academic and extracurricular activities.

  • Maintenance and Repairs - Our team conducts routine inspections and maintenance of school buildings and grounds, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air

    conditioning), and more. We respond promptly to repair requests to minimize disruption to classes, ensuring that every classroom is a comfortable space for learning.

  • Custodial Services - Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene is a top priority. Our custodial staff performs daily cleaning tasks, which include cleaning classrooms, vacuuming, sanitizing restrooms, and maintaining common areas. We uphold high standards of cleanliness to promote health and safety within our schools.

  • Groundskeeping - The aesthetic appeal of our campuses is important. Our grounds crew is responsible for landscaping, lawn care, and maintaining safe playgrounds and outdoor facilities. They ensure that our outdoor spaces are not only pleasing to the eye but also safe and accessible for students.

  • Safety and Compliance - Safety is paramount in everything we do. The Facilities and Maintenance Department ensures that all buildings comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations. This includes fire safety inspections, emergency drills, and the maintenance of safety equipment.

  • Project Management - Whether it’s renovating a classroom or overseeing large scale construction projects, our team effectively manages all facility-related projects from conception to completion. We coordinate with outside contractors and district personnel to ensure that projects meet budgetary and timeline expectations while aligning with educational goals.

Our success relies on a collaborative effort from every department member. Each staff member brings a unique set of skills, talents, and expertise. Together, we foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and accountability.
