STAY HOME CHART Parents should check daily for signs of illness. Students with any illness or the following symptoms should remain home from school. The following may be used as a guide I NEED TO STAY HOME IF... I HAVE A FEVER OR I HAVE A SEVERE I HAVE A SORE UNCONTROLLED THROAT CHILLS COUGH I AM VOMITING I HAVE DIARRHEA I HAVE ABDOMINAL PAIN I HAVE AN EYE I HAVE A RASH INFECTION ORAL TEMPERATURE OF 100.4 OR HIGHER (Temp 99.4 for thermal temp) NON-PRODUCTIVE, FREQUENT, USUALLY DRY COUGH Fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication. i.e. Tylenol, Motrin REDNESS, RAW, SCRATCHY, BURNING FEELING AT BACK OF THROAT WITHIN THE PAST 24 HOURS WITHIN THE PAST 24 HOURS ACCOMPANIED WITH FEVER, ITCHING, BODY RASH AND/OR WITH FEVER VOMITING, "CRUSTY" DIARRHEA OR SORE THROAT DRAINAGE I AM READY TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL WHEN I AM ... If mild cough then you can go to school. However, if other symptoms occur or the cough is excessive continue to keep home. Cough should not be excessive enough to 24 hours after symptoms begin to improve or 12 hours after the start of antibiotics Free from vomiting for 24 hours Free from diarrhea for at least 24 hours 24 hours after symptoms begin to improve FROM EYE I have been evaluated by my doctor and have had three doses of eye drops or a note to return to school OR OPEN WEEPING WOUNDS Free from rash, itching, or fever. I have been evaluated by my doctor if disrupt learning ALL HOUR REQUIREMENTS MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE ACCORDING TO STATE OR LOCAL HEALTH ORDERS needed.
